Covid-19 Update

May 16, 2020

Starting May 19, with the approved standards and guidance from the PHO, WorkSafeBC, BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and our respective colleges; Chiropractic, Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy may resume in-person services.  All staff and practitioners at The Workshop Clinic are required to follow the expectations for infection prevention and control as they resume work.  We must remember that this is the beginning of a transition and intended to be a careful restart in keeping with the requirements of our “new normal.” All standards are put in place to ensure patients receive safe and timely care.  We have included all of our new clinic protocols below:

In-Clinic Patient and Client Protocols

We are adjusting the way we work to ensure our practitioners can provide treatment safely and effectively as soon as we open.

Here is what patients and clients can now expect during their next visit to the Workshop.

▪️ A pre-appointment COVID-19 screening questionnaire
▪️ Patients must confirm they have not travelled outside of BC in the previous 14 days
▪️ The day before the appointment, patients are asked to complete the BC COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool (www.bc.thrive.health).
▪️ New Patient/New Assessment Informed consent online form to complete before your appointment
▪️ No waiting in the common area. Please show up at your scheduled appointment time.
▪️ Cloth or surgical masks are mandatory before entering the clinic.
▪️ Discard of any gloves used outside of the clinic prior to entering.
▪️ Mandatory hand-sanitizer use on the way in and out of the clinic.
▪️ Mandatory digital temperature reading by the clinician when you arrive.
▪️ No non-essential belongings, food/beverage or bikes allowed in the clinic.
▪️ No companion or pets allowed inside the clinic (unless it is a minor accompaniment)
▪️ No water jug access
▪️ No bathroom access (urgent use only)
▪️ Patients/clients must arrive dressed for treatment
▪️ Card payments only. No cash. The card must be on file or e-transfer.

We are asking patients to stay home if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or loss of sense of smell. If experiencing these symptoms please call 8-1-1.

Additional Sanitization Protocols

We are preparing our space to ensure our practitioners can provide treatment safely and effectively as soon as we reopen. This means we are putting additional focus on how we keep our space clean.

Going forward we will be enforcing:

▪️ Mandatory hand-washing before and after each patient is treated.
▪️ Station for mandatory sanitizing before and after patients. This includes tables, facepieces, high touched surfaces, chairs/tables.
▪️ Common area chairs cleaned after use.
▪️ Intake form, pens and bathroom key sanitized after use
▪️ Mandatory masks.
▪️ Staggered treatment times, limited treatment windows and added buffer post-treatment for enhanced cleaning.
▪️ Social distancing protocols of 2 meters/6 feet distance in clinic areas other than in the treatment room.

Additional Building Security

To limit the number of people inside, our building will remain locked until further notice, even after our clinic reopens.

Please be advised that while the building remains temporarily locked, a practitioner or staff member will meet our patients at the entrance at the beginning of their appointments to let them in.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

We are asking patients to stay home if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or loss of sense of smell. If experiencing these symptoms please call 8-1-1.

We wanted to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these hard times. We also want the best for our community and encourage you to follow the health authority recommendations for social distancing and basic protective measures.

Stay healthy and we’ll see you soon!
