Darla Ricka Registered Massage Therapist at Workshop Performance Clinic in Port Moody, BC

Darla Ricka- Port Moody

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Darla has been providing massage therapy care in Port Moody since 2008. As a former competitive equestrian vaulter, which is the art of gymnastics, dance, and acrobatics on a moving horse – Darla has represented Canada on the international stage as an individual competitor and received top honours as a member of the pairs
and squad team.

Her background as an athlete has taught her the value of injury prevention, performance sustainability, and integrated care. While her competition days are over, she is incredibly passionate about fitness which inspired her to complete her yoga and group fitness certification.

From experiencing athletic injuries to working a physical job, yoga, and fitness has aided in Darla’s injury recovery and has extended the longevity of her massage career. Not only did her fitness training help enhance her own life, but she also integrated her knowledge within her massage therapy practice through patient education.

Darla’s preferred treatment techniques include deep tissue release, hot and cold stone therapy, myofascial release, tendon friction, joint mobilization, and Swedish Massage Therapy. She can seamlessly integrate the hot and cold stones during a relaxation-focused treatment or a specific injury-related session.

Hot stones have been used therapeutically worldwide for centuries. They can aid in alleviating pain, releasing muscle tissue, relieving stress and fatigue, promote deeper relaxation. Therapeutic cold stones aid in decreasing swelling following trauma, and muscle spasms, and reduce pain. Darla is looking forward to working with you to help you reach your wellness goals.
