Nicholas Tataryn – Vancouver
Physiotherapist
Nick graduated with his Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) from Bond University in Australia in June 2020. Prior to completing his physiotherapy program, Nick finished his Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of Winnipeg. He has +10 years of experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with a wide spectrum of clientele in Vancouver, BC. Throughout his career, he has worked with young athletes with big aspirations in the junior/bantam levels, all the way to professional athletes in the NHL, NFL, MLB, and Olympics to name a few. He also has extensive experience working with the general population, whether that be weekend-warriors looking to rehab an injury or gain some strength, or clientele trying to meet their fitness goals while navigating a chronic disease/disability.
He also has a keen interest in research in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, having published research in March 2021 looking at the effects of different forms of exercise on chronic low back pain. He continues to do research to this day, collaborating with other researchers from around the globe. This allows him to keep up to date with the latest evidence-based treatment and research which he can swiftly apply with his clientele. Finding answers to questions we can’t currently answer is one of the reasons he is so passionate about research, as well as helping people find out answers to their own injury/rehab questions.
With a history himself of competing in various sports/athletics as well as navigating injuries, Nick enjoys helping people get back to their “normal”. Through clear communication, an open mind, and creating a individual client-centered treatment programs, his approach looks at each client as an “individual” navigating an injury/concern, as opposed to treating an “injury” on a person. Through collaborative goal setting early on, clients are not left in the dark and will understand where they are in their respective rehab process. Utilizing a combination of hands-on treatment/assessments and progressive exercises, Nick will work with you to get you where you want to be, whatever that may look like for you.
